Forward Windows DNS Server Queries to DigitalStakeout PDNS

Before Your Begin Forwarding DNS Queries

  1. You should have the DNS role installed. To install the DNS role, please see one of the following articles: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/networking/dns/dns-top
  2. You should also have a Static IP configured in DigitalStakeout PDNS.

How to Change Windows DNS forwarding

Pointing Windows DNS Server to DigitalStakeout PDNS 
  1. Open DNS Manager Open Run box typing Win+R, type dnsmgmt.msc, click OK
  2. Open the DNS Server properties Right click the DNS Server to change, select Properties
  3. Open the Edit Forwarders window Select the Forwarders tab, click Edit



  4. Add the following IPv4 addresses to the forwarder:
    1. 142.202.107.1
    2. 142.202.107.2
  5. Click OK
  6. Apply the change, DigitalStakeout PDNS IPv4 addresses will be listed.
  7. DNS Queries will now be forwarded to DigitalStakeout PDNS,
Once complete, you should be able to view your forwarded PDNS Logs in the PDNS portal.
